What do You do in the In-Between?

I find myself in a season of waiting—a season of being in between. And if I’m honest, I don’t like the in-betweens. I’m not even sure what I’m between. But when I look back, I can clearly see a bold, defining line where everything changed. It’s the kind of moment that divides life into "before" and "after."

We all have those moments—before marriage and after, before kids and the life that follows, before the house gets quiet and the nest is empty. These transitions shape us. They shift our world.

It’s been two and a half years since my own line was drawn across my life, and now I find myself in this space—waiting. Waiting for what, I’m not entirely sure. A new chapter? A new relationship? A smaller house, a new pace, a fresh start? I don’t have the answer.

And honestly, waiting is hard. But what’s even harder—maybe even dangerous—is doing nothing while you wait. Getting stuck. Forgetting to live. Life doesn’t just happen to us; we have to pursue it. Embrace where you are. Keep moving forward. And trust that whatever it is you’re waiting for, God will bring it in His perfect timing.

So if you have a dream—chase it. If there’s a new skill or hobby calling to you—go for it. Don’t let the bold lines of life’s transitions hold you back or keep you stuck while you wait. Let them mark the beginning of something new. Keep living, keep moving, and trust that purpose can be found even in the waiting.
